JOE RUCK PAINTINGS & SCULPTURE
BRAYER PAINTINGS
All artwork in this section is original, most are painted with oils on canvas some are ink on paper. They are created primarily using a brayer with touches of brushwork for accents and softening.
I use Speedball® rubber brayers instead of tradition brushes to apply oil paints to the canvas. This allows me to paint in an impressionistic manner with large overlapping blocks of color. And by turning the brayer up on its edge when rolling a beautiful rhythmic line can be achieved.
A wide variety of subjects and compositions are showcased here using the brayer technique. Please take a minute to explore how the brayer can be used as a fine art painting tool.
