In this area I have included some sketches done with different mediums and tools in a variety of styles. The figure on this page was drawn with a Sharpie™ on brown wrapping paper in about two minutes.

 

I encourage beginning artists to experiment with techniques before committing to just one personal favorite. Making marks on paper can be done with many different tools. Let your imagination wander.

 

I remember being amazed by a calligrapher who used a broken twig to create the most beautiful letter forms. True works of art from an old stick dipped in black mud.
